In Uganda, malaria is still the biggest killer of children and pregnant mothers. Every single day, 16 lives are lost, and every minute, someone battles this preventable disease. It remains the leading cause of illness and death responsible for up to 40% of hospital visits and one in every five hospital admissions.
Behind these numbers are real stories children missing school because of fever, mothers walking miles to find medicine, and families pushed deeper into poverty by the cost of treatment. For many, a simple mosquito bite can mean tragedy.
Yet malaria is preventable and treatable. Uganda has made progress through the Ministry of Health’s National Malaria Elimination Division, Rotary, and private sector partners. But major gaps still remain. Health centers run short of test kits and medicines. Many families sleep without mosquito nets. Blood banks struggle to save children with severe malaria.
This is why Malaria Free Uganda has launched a global donation drive to cover the existing gaps in the strategy starting with our target $105,000 to bridge these life-threatening gaps. Your contribution will help strengthen blood banks, equip health centers with diagnostic kits, provide nets to families, and support community prevention programs in selected highly endemic regions.
Every dollar counts.
Your support can turn statistics into stories of survival. It can help a mother save her child, a student return to school, and a family sleep safely through the night. when you give, you become a hero, a lifesaver, a protector, a champion of hope. Because of you, a child will live, a family will thrive, and Uganda will move one step closer to defeating malaria for good
