My name is Allan Ssekandi, though I am known on the streets as Allan Musenyu. I am an independent screenwriter and the founder of Ssekandi Mogul Studios from the Buganda Kingdom in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Growing up, extreme hardship forced me into child labor. I had to do heavy physical work just to pay my own school fees and tuition, and to help my parents cover the medical bills for my little sister, who is a sickle cell victim. That heavy labor ultimately resulted in a severe back injury, leaving me unable to do physical work anymore. But during that dark time, a hidden talent that had been buried reawoke and came back to life. Long ago in school, I used to write plays for the institutions I attended. Once I recovered what the streets and hard labor had taken away from me, I poured everything into writing a couple of Hollywood-standard movie scripts.

Now, I am stuck with fully completed scripts and a single mission: to sell these stories to Hollywood, secure the capital, and use those funds to build a sustainable local studio at home. This studio will create real jobs and career opportunities for talented youth, helping to fight the very cycle of child labor and unemployment that caused my own suffering.

What the Funds Are For
