Background
Teenage mothers in Northern Uganda continue to face significant social and economic challenges, including poverty, limited access to education, unemployment, stigma, and inadequate support systems. Many struggle to provide basic necessities for themselves and their children, leaving them vulnerable to further hardship.
Mimshach Foundation seeks to implement a one-week intervention aimed at restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity to vulnerable teenage mothers through the provision of essential supplies, skills development, mentorship, and psychosocial support.
Project Goal
To improve the welfare and resilience of vulnerable teenage mothers and their children through immediate relief assistance and empowerment opportunities.
Target Beneficiaries
50 vulnerable teenage mothers and their children from selected communities in Northern Uganda.
Project Objectives
- Provide emergency food and essential household support to vulnerable teenage mothers.
- Distribute baby care and hygiene supplies to improve child and maternal wellbeing.
- Equip beneficiaries with practical income-generating skills.
- Provide mentorship, counseling, and life-skills training.
- Create a foundation for long-term economic empowerment and self-reliance.
Project Activities
Day 1–2: Community Mobilization and Beneficiary Registration
- Community engagement meetings.
- Identification and registration of beneficiaries.
- Needs assessment and documentation.
Day 3: Distribution of Essential Support Packages
- Food supplies.
- Baby clothing and care items.
- Sanitary pads and hygiene materials.
- Household essentials.
Day 4–5: Skills Development and Economic Empowerment Training
- Liquid soap making.
- Financial literacy.
- Entrepreneurship and small business management.
- Savings and income generation practices.
Day 6: Mentorship and Counseling Sessions
- Parenting skills.
- Mental wellness and emotional support.
- Goal setting and personal development.
Day 7: Community Engagement, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Beneficiary feedback sessions.
- Documentation of success stories.
- Project evaluation and reporting.
Expected Outcomes
- 50 teenage mothers receive immediate support and relief.
- Improved nutrition and hygiene among beneficiary households.
- Increased confidence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
- Beneficiaries acquire practical income-generating skills.
- Strengthened capacity for self-reliance and economic participation.
- Establishment of a beneficiary network for continued mentorship and support.

Sustainability
The project is designed as an entry point for long-term engagement with teenage mothers. Through acquired skills, mentorship, and community support networks, beneficiaries will be better positioned to improve their livelihoods and care for their children. The project will also generate impact stories and lessons that will support future fundraising and program expansion.
